VECTOR ART HOUSE, LLC PRESENTS
MADISON MARRIOTT WEST
UPDATE JULY 1, 2020 - COVID-19
Due to the current health concerns of coronavirus COVID-19, we have made the difficult decision to cancel ExpectoCon for 2020 entirely. New June 2021 dates will be announced. You may contact us any time with the form below or through our Facebook page's inbox. We are sorry to disappoint everyone, but we wish everyone good health for our adventure next year!
JULY 1, 2020
We have made the difficult decision to cancel ExpectoCon completely for 2020 due to concerns about the spread of COVID-19. All tickets purchased for 2020 have been rolled over automatically to 2021, and we are allowing a small break in our terms to allow for ticket refunds and ticket incentives.
MAY 18, 2020
All Madison Marriott West reservations that were made for the original June weekend have been cancelled. You'll need to re-book your rooms by phone (608) 831-2000 or online, and if the booking page doesn't give you rooms based on the days you want, please try calling instead.
April 24, 2020
Congratulations to all of our vendors who submitted their application before the March 5th deadline, you have been chosen for ExpectoCon 2! We will be contacting each vendor to confirm their vendor spot with the new rescheduled weekend dates.
MARCH 23, 2020
Vendor application review has been delayed. We apologize for this! Wand stations are currently being constructed, and professors are working on their curriculum.
MARCH 1, 2020
OCTOBER 1, 2019
Thank you to those who purchased tickets in advance and answered our hotel poll on our ExpectoCon Fans Facebook group! We crossed our first hurdle in securing ExpectoCon 2020 at the Madison Marriott West, and now we look towards booking hotel rooms, launching vendor applications, and planning out classes. Tickets purchased by December 31, 2019 will determine how many classes and how often classes are held throughout the weekend.
A message from Eric Larson, Vector Art House LLC
Many people enjoy the fun of films and books, seeing how their world can come to life with a good story or a film that captures the spirit and fun they want to have all the time. The fact is that for many of us, these two outlets are pure escapism, and we cherish the thought of just exploring with our imagination.
ExpectoCon is the culmination of years of work, basically everything I have learned and created over the past 20 plus years. As a designer and art director, I have had the chance to work on such films as the Star Wars re-releases, Star Wars Episode 1, Disney's 101 Dalmatians, and Warner Bros.'s Batman series. I have literally sat in on sets and seen how the magic is brought to life, and now I am bringing what I know to the Wizarding World!
I have had the greatest of time creating TeslaCon, the largest immersive Steampunk convention in the world. This year we celebrate our tenth year, and the entire premise is to create a feeling of believability and wonder when my guests are there, and we will do the same with ExpectoCon.
a recap of 2018
ExpectoCon made its magical debut during the August 17-19 weekend of 2018. Our special guests for the weekend were Stanislav Yanevski (aka Stan Ianevski, who starred in "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire"), Ernest Gary Gygax Jr. ("Dungeons & Dragons"), Samantha R. Crossland (fashion designer), Bryan Donihue (author of "The Knights Bane" trilogy), and Kari Lewis (cosplayer known for her likeness to Hermione Granger/Emma Watson).
Our panels were designed to be classrooms for our wizard school, a fictional one created for ExpectoCon known as "St. Cyprian's School of Wizardry". We had interactive dragons, wand stations (which includes one for sorting into houses), themed restaurant menu, shops, game rooms, costume contest, and an evening prom.
